Course Curriculum

Korean Language School offers four quarters of intensive Korean language courses a year and each quarter consists of 10 weeks

Division Details
Class Days
  • Monday to Friday (5 days a week)
Class Time
  • Morning time class : 9am ~ 12:50pm
  • Day time class : 2pm ~ 5:50pm
Level
  • Level 1 ~ Level 6
Subjects
  • Korean Speaking (8hours a week), Korean Listening (4 hours a week),
  • Korean Reading (4 hours a week), Korean Writing (4 hours a week)
Cultural
Field Trip
  • Attend local festival, experience Korean traditional culture, visit cultural site, watch cultural performance

Course Goals for each level

Level Goals
Level 1 Students can understand basic culture of Korean life and simply communicate with basic expressions.
Level 2 Students can understand basic culture of Korean life and simply communicate with topics related with daily life.
Level 3 Students can understand familiar social/ cultural topics and use basic expressions to keep social relationship and
carry out general tasks.
Level 4 Students can understand familiar social/cultural topics and use fluent expressions to keep social relationships and
carry out general tasks.
Level 5 Students can understand unfamiliar social or abstract topics and use basic expressions to carry out tasks related
with society and culture.
Level 6 Students can understand unfamiliar social or abstract topics and communicate with fluent expressions to carry out tasks
related with society and culture.

Evaluation

  • Evaluation : Midterm test(30%), Final test(40%), Assignment and Participation(20%)
  • Criteria to pass class

    Attendance rate (over 70%), Grade(over 65)

  • If a student fails a same level twice and interrupt class with a poor attitude, the one can not register a next quarter following a decision of the SCH Korean Language School committee.

Scholarship

  • Scholarship is under bylaw of SCH Korean Language School
