SCH Winter – Teaching Assistant Application

Winter Camp 2019 offers two weeks of day camp, filled with interesting classes and fun activities in order to learn English.
Teaching Assistants are instrumental in organizing and implementing every aspect of camp classes, food service, student arrival and departure, and special events. Applicants must have excellent English speaking and listening ability. In addition, the qualities we look for are a positive attitude, enthusiasm, good judgment, reliability, flexibility, and adaptability. Teaching Assistants must be personable, highly energetic, safety-minded, honest, sincere, and willing to work hard.

Dates and Benefits: Applicants must be an SCH International Student and able to commit to working for the entire camp. TAs will work Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with one half-hour break daily. Evenings and weekends are not required. The starting camp date will be January 6th, 2020 and the last working day is January 17th, 2020.

You will also be provided with on-campus housing (in the dormitory) during the two week camp period, as well as free lunches during camp. If you wish to stay in the dorm outside of that time, you will be required to pay for it yourself. The dorm fee has not yet been set by SCH. The winter price was 9,000₩ per day to give an estimate.
You will be provided with a small salary, paid after the conclusion of camp. The salary is based on Korean minimum wage and should be approximately 660,000₩.

Those selected as TAs will attend one required orientation meeting. The meeting time and place will be announced after TAs are selected, but it will take place before the end of the semester.

Job Description Teaching Assistants will work with up to 15 students ranging from 3rd grade to 6th grade. TAs will supervise student movement between classes, lunch, and Special Events; assist teachers with classroom management, participation, and emergencies; assist with student arrival and departure; assist with lunch time; and assist camp committee with Special Events.
